Licensed Master's Social Worker · Speaker · Trainer · Author · Advocate
My name is Amber Deverell, and I believe healing is possible, hope is real, and our hardest stories don't have to define our future.
As a licensed master's social worker, mental health professional, speaker, trainer, author, and advocate, I have dedicated my life to helping children, families, educators, and organizations understand trauma, build resilience, and create environments where people can thrive.
But my passion didn't begin in a classroom or a therapy room — it began with my own story.
Growing up in foster care and experiencing childhood trauma gave me a firsthand understanding of pain, uncertainty, and the lasting impact of adversity. Through God's grace, supportive relationships, and years of personal and professional growth, I discovered that healing is possible. Today, that journey fuels everything I do.
Whether I'm speaking on stage, leading professional trainings, or working directly with youth, my mission is the same: to equip others with practical tools, inspire hope, and remind people that transformation is possible.
I believe that when we understand the story behind the behavior, we create space for compassion, connection, and lasting change.
Some moments change everything. This was one of them.
I partner with schools, youth-serving organizations, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and child and family service agencies by providing:
Each presentation is practical, engaging, and rooted in both professional expertise and lived experience.
Licensed at the master's level with clinical depth and expertise in trauma, mental health, and social work practice.
Graduate-level training in evidence-based practice, trauma treatment, and human behavior.
Specialized certification in trauma-informed care and evidence-based trauma treatment approaches.
Trained and experienced in school-based mental health support, student wellness, and educator training.
Published author writing from the intersection of faith, healing, and hard-won wisdom.
Delivering keynotes and professional trainings to schools, nonprofits, faith communities, and organizations nationwide.
To help people move from surviving to healing by combining evidence-based practices, lived experience, and faith-filled hope. My goal is to equip professionals, empower individuals, and inspire communities to believe that no story is beyond redemption.
"Your past may shape your story, but it doesn't have to determine your future. Healing is possible, hope is available, and purpose can grow from even the deepest pain."
